Academic initiatives

The foundation appreciates the hardships faced by rural students in studying science and technology subjects. The Foundation wish to bridge the gap between rural and urban schools by providing rural students access to platforms to learn and grow their scientific and technological acumen.

The foundation works hand in hand with schools, the community and stakeholders to achieve its goals.

Academic Scholarships

The academic scholarship is worth up to $US500.00 and will cover tuition, uniforms, stationery and academic equipment where possible. The academic scholarship is available for students with academic excellence in the following subjects.

Mathematics, Science, Computers, Agriculture, Biology, Chemistry, Physics, Accounting and many more.

Candidates should apply for the Academic Scholarship, motivating why they feel they should be considered for the Scholarship.

  1. Candidates will be shortlisted based on their application, which must include details of their academic  achievements and proven pass record. Testimonials from teachers should also be provided at this stage.

  2. The candidate should be able to demonstrate full commitment to their academic pursuits and have the ability and aspiration to compete at a national or international level in at least one of our major sports - running (short or long distances), football, netball, rugby, cycling. Other sports will be considered on an individual basis.

  3. Candidates must be able to demonstrate a talent and passion for their chosen sport and will be expected to be a role model to others, inspiring them through their own positive behaviour and determination to improve.

Shortlisted applicants will be invited to attend an assessment morning in June, whereupon they will undertake a number of activities to demonstrate their physical and technical sporting ability.

The successful candidates will be expected to be actively involved in the wider sporting life of the school and to commit fully to all training sessions and matches.

The Sports Scholarship will be awarded for a one-year period and will be reviewed annually on the basis of criteria laid out above.
